Recipe: Sleeping Bear Chili

Pair with Cocobon Red Blend

2 ½ lbs. Lean ground beef

2 cups diced onions

12 oz. red ale

One 29 oz. can tomato sauce

Two cans (141/2 oz.) diced tomatoes

Two cans (15oz.) chili beans

2 gloves garlic, crushed

1 jalapeno, chopped

2 T beef base

1 ½ T chili powder

1 ½ t oregano

1t cumin

1 ½ t hot pepper sauce (optional)

Grated cheese, sour cream and onions for garnish

Directions:

In a large stockpot brown the beef and onions over medium high heat until the meat is

cooked and the onions are translucent. Drain the fat and add the remaining ingredients. Stir thoroughly

and reduce the heat to low. Simmer for 21/2 to 3 hours. Garnish and serve.
