Considered among the best if not the best wine from the grand hill of Hermitage in the Northern Rhone. This is Syrah in its most wild and untamed; classic notes of smoke, leather, briny black olive, smoked meat, black cherry, blueberry, black peppercorns and a hint of plum make this a beautiful experience. The 2018 vintage was phenomenal, with a focus on ripeness without being overly jammy, allowing the wines to age beautifully for a minimum of 20-30 years.

From a great vintage and highest echelon producer on the grand hill of Hermitage in the Northern Rhone. Perhaps just the slightest touch less spectacular than 2018, the 2019 is another virtually perfect wine from Jean Louis Chave. This vintage allowed for there to be a bit more smokey minerality in this wine, giving it ripe fruit flavors underline with a tinge of mineral water and pleasant, sweet pipe tobacco, pepper, and cherry.
