Some people are simply impossible to shop for, either because they already have everything, prefer “experiences over things,” or enjoy details that make gifting feel a little intimidating. Fortunately, the guys in Anderson's Market wine department know exactly how to recommend a thoughtfully chosen allocated or hard-to-find bottle for the ultimate gift. These are the gems that collectors hunt for and enthusiasts talk about.
Below, Dennis has curated a list of truly special bottles currently available in limited quantities from Anderson’s Wine Department. These are the gifts for someone who appreciates craftsmanship, rarity, or prestige.
Understanding the Wine “Point System”
Wine ratings are often given on a 100-point scale by respected critics and publications such as Wine Spectator, Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate, James Suckling, Decanter, and others. While not everyone agrees with every critic, these scores provide helpful context for quality, structure, and aging potential.
Here’s how the general scale works:
90–94 points: Outstanding wines with exceptional character and complexity.
95–97 points: Truly superior wines with remarkable depth and craftsmanship.
98–100 points: Benchmark, world-class wines—rare, collectible, and often iconic.
A high score doesn’t guarantee you’ll personally love a wine, but it does signal that industry experts consider it a standout example of its style or region. For gifting, it’s a reassuring indicator that what you’re giving is genuinely special.
Gifts for That Special Person

Bardstown Collaborative Series Foursquare Bourbon: This release is a limited-edition expression and as of late 2025, it is becoming harder to find in many markets. A high-quality, balanced rum-finished bourbon, praised for blending rich, sweet fruit/caramel notes from the Foursquare casks with rye spice and bourbon character. It's a well-executed release that's accessible to both whiskey and rum fans. 2 bottles in stock $149.99

Glenmorangie 18 Year “The Infinita” Single Malt Scotch: This rich and complex Scotch is the result of a dual maturation process. After maturing for 15 years in ex-bourbon casks, about 30% of the whisky is transferred to Spanish Oloroso sherry casks for an additional three years before being reunited with the bourbon-matured portion for bottling. The Infinita is known for its layers of flavor, including notes of fruit, honey, caramel, and subtle hints of smoke. Perfect for the Scotch lover.

Keenan 750ml 2014 Mailbox Vineyard Merlot: A high-quality, full-bodied red wine from Napa Valley’s Spring Mountain District known for its rich, dark fruit flavors like black cherry and blackcurrant, with notes of spice and earth. This is a highly allocated and difficult-to-find wine that was produced in limited quantities from the highly rated 2014 vintage.
Three bottles in stock. $147.99. 94 points

Keenan 750ml 2015 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon: A rich, full-bodied, and structured Cabernet, often with notes of black fruit, spice, and savory herbs with well-integrated tannins and a long finish. The 2015 Keenan Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon is very hard to find and is sold out at most retailers. The 2015 vintage had record-low yields, meaning less was produced, and it was highly sought after.
Two bottles in stock. $118.99. 92 points

Keenan 1.5L 2015 Napa Valley Spring Mountain Cabernet Franc: This complex wine made from 100% Cabernet Franc comes from vineyards that are 2,000 feet in elevation in the Spring Mountain District of Napa Valley. Dense purple hue with intoxicating floral notes and lush blueberry and currant aromas. The palate continues this dark fruit theme with a great core of red and black fruit seasoned with savory herbs. The finish embodies elegance, polish, and balanced structure. This wine is difficult to find because it is an older vintage from a specific vineyard, and it is in a large-format bottle, which is generally more challenging to source than standard-sized bottles from current vintages.
One bottle in stock. $289.99. 94 points

Tignanello 750ml 2019 Italian Red Blend: A sophisticated wine with initial notes of red fruits like cherry and pomegranate, evolving into aromas of vanilla, chocolate, and coffee. The palate is silky and vibrant with a lengthy finish of bitter chocolate and coffee notes, supported by fine, supportive tannins.
Three bottles in stock. $179.99. 96 points

Sassicaia 2019 750ml Super Tuscan: Flavors of ripe dark fruits such as blackcurrant and plum, with complex notes of cedar, graphite, and tobacco. It has a rich yet balanced flavor profile with fine-grained tannins, bright acidity, and a long, elegant finish that features hints of dark chocolate and spice. Sassicaia is the granddaddy of the Super Tuscan category, and the 2019 is one of the greatest editions of all time. It earned 100 points from Decanter—the only Italian wine from the 2019 vintage to do so.
Two bottles in stock. $269.99. 100 points

Chateau Troplong Mondot 1er Grand Cru Classé 750ml 2015: From the excellent 2015 vintage, this is a powerful, opulent wine. Its density, concentration, and layers of dark fruits are all held together by powerful tannins. Touches of black coffee and spice emphasize the richness of the fruit and the opulent aftertaste. Drink from 2025.
One bottle in stock. $179.99. 99 points

Chateau Palmer Margaux 750ml 2014: One of the staple producers in Margaux, this bottle from the often-overlooked 2014 vintage is a testament to the consistency and brilliance of the winemakers at Chateau Palmer, creating a dense Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Petit Verdot blend that showcases the purity of the black and red fruits like blackberry, plum, and cherry, married perfectly with the use of 65% new French oak.

Chateau Durfort-Vivens 750ml 2006 Margaux Bordeaux: This 2nd Growth Margaux is primarily made from Cabernet Sauvignon and has delicate but full fruit flavors matched by balanced tannins. It represents a fantastic value for a bottle that is ready to be consumed right now. This wine has great acidity and minerality, with wonderfully developed secondary notes of leather, cedar, and even the tiniest hint of graphite to accompany the blackberry, blueberry, and mulberry fruit flavors.
A great gift for any Bordeaux lover. $99.99. 93 points

Domaine Blain-Gagnard Chassagne-Montrachet Blanc 1er Cru “La Boudriotte” 2020: A beautiful Chardonnay from the Chassagne-Montrachet village in Burgundy, showcasing white peach, pear, green apple, and a crisp minerality. This is what true white Burgundy is all about. Aged in 35% new French oak barrels, the acidity shines through the 2020 vintage and makes this a fantastic accompaniment to hard cheeses, fish, and poultry dishes, as well as an all-around excellent bottle to enjoy as an aperitif. There’s always a place for Chardonnay done right, and no one does it better than Burgundy.
$136.99. 93 points

Domaine Etienne Sauzet Bourgogne Hautes-Côtes de Beaune 2023: From one of Burgundy’s truly highest-tier producers, this Chardonnay is a testament to the philosophy that, in this part of the world, producer means everything. The great vineyards of Burgundy have the best conditions for grapes to grow to their highest potential, but that’s only half of the story. The other half takes place in the cellar, and Etienne Sauzet excels at giving the grapes the treatment they deserve, making wines of exceptional clarity, character, and precision. Focused lemon, lime, stony minerality, white truffle, chicken bouillon, and just the slightest kiss of oak—this label may not say “premier cru” or “grand cru,” but that doesn’t mean the liquid inside can’t still stand among them.
$73.99

Dr. Bürklin-Wolf 375ml 2015 Wachenheimer Riesling Auslese: A beautiful sweeter-style Riesling that echoes the flavors, concentration, and acidity of the exalted northern Michigan Ice Wines (however, not made from frozen grapes). The Auslese style is packed with beautiful citrus notes of lemon, lime, and tangerine, with green apple, pear, peach, and even a hint of honey. This is a stellar example of sweeter-style German Riesling, which maintains incredibly fresh and full acidity not often found in the Late Harvest Rieslings from the area. Critically underrated and underpriced compared to their equivalent quality levels—say, a Napa Cabernet or a French Champagne—these wines are perfect after dinner with cheeses, scrumptious jams, or even shortbread wafers. This is the perfect wine for that person in your family with a sweet tooth, especially if that person is you!
375ml bottle. $30.99. 91 points

Domaine Jean-Louis Chave Hermitage 750ml 2019: A potential candidate for the wine of the vintage, the 2019 Hermitage is massive and full-bodied with layers of palate-coating, black and dark red fruits that steal the show. Concentrated, refined, elegant, long and complex with every sniff and sip a turn-on. The purity in the fruit and the silky tannins provide an opulent, lush, seamless finish that is close to the 60-second mark. This is a future legendary vintage for Chave that you need to own, if you are a fan of their wine. Drink from 2030-2050. This wine is difficult to find due to extremely limited production and high demand from collectors and enthusiasts for an incredible wine from the Chave family, with a winemaking lineage dating back to 1481. 1 bottle in stock $399.99 99 points

Jameson 18-year Irish Whiskey: Is considered hard to find due to high demand, limited production (sometimes yearly releases), allocation, and its status as a premium, rare whiskey, often selling out quickly. This superb Irish whiskey is so good because of its extended aging (18+ years in oak casks) and unique finishing process create exceptional smoothness, complexity, and rich flavors of toffee, vanilla, dried fruits, and spice. 1bottle in stock. $226.99

MaCallan 18-year Scotch: MaCallan Scotch, especially the Sherry Oak expressions, can be hard to find due to massive global demand, supply chain issues, high collector value, and the cost of sherry cask aging, making them an expensive collector's item. 1 bottle in stock $447.99
